Division of Medical Oncology

Prof Jae Kyung Roh, Director of Cancer Metastasis Research Centre, did his fellowship at Vincent T. Lombardi Cancer Centre, Georgetown University in Washington DC after residency training in Internal Medicine in Severance Hospital. He returned to Korea in 1986 as chief of division of medical oncology, and conducted clinical trials and cancer pharmacology research. Now he is mainly involved in cancer metastasis research and clinical research as Director.

Prof Sun Young Rha graduated the Yonsei University College of Medicine and received the board of the Internal Medicine and the Ph D degree at the Yonsei University. After getting the subspeciatly board at the Hemato-Oncology, she finished her postdoctoral fellowship at the Cancer Therapy and Research Center, the University of Texas Health Science Centre at San Antonio, TX, USA. Currently, her positions are 1) Associate Professor, Internal Medicine, Yonsei University College of Medicine, 2) Chief of the Division of Genomics and Translational Research, Cancer Metastasis Research Center, Yonsei University, 3) Head of the Division of Clinical Trial Support, Education and Training, Clinical Trials Center, Yonsei University, and the 4) Director of the Office for the Human Research Protection Program, Severance Hospital, Yonsei University Health System. The fields of her interests are 1) gastric cancer, RCC and Sarcoma, 2) Therapeutic strategy and new drug development, 3) Genomics based biomarker development, 4) Pharmacogenomics/pharmacogenetics, 5) Angiogenesis and metastasis, and 6) Epigenetics. As a clinical researcher, she has been involved in various clinical trials from phase I-III trials, and working as a leading PI in Korean Cancer Study Group. Also as a translational researcher, preclinical anticancer drug screening with potential mechanism evaluation and several correlative studies for biomarker development are on-going. After establishing the genomic core facility, genomics-based biomarker and target identification in GI cancer are the current major projects.

Dr Hei-Cheul Jeung is associated professor of Department of Internal Medicine, Yonsei Cancer Center (YCC), Yonsei University College of Medicine. He trained in medical oncology in YCC from 1999 to 2002, and he worked for Research of Molecular Cancer Medicine of Kagoshima University, Kagoshima, Japan, as a postdoctoral fellow from 2002 to 2004. He is now in Gangnam Severance Hospital, Seoul, Korea, where he have been participating in clinical trials and cancer pharmacology research. His main clinical interest is gastrintestinal oncology, and also conducts basic/translational researches about metastasis and angio(lymphangio)genesis.

Prof Sang Joon Shin, Assistant Professor, department of oncology, did his fellowship at Yonsei Cancer Center. His research interests are with the gastrointestinal, brain and skin cancer.

Prof Seung Tae Lee served as a postdoctoral fellow at the M.D.Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Tx. His main interest is B cell neoplasms including lymphoma and myeloma and cancer immunotherapy.

Prof Hye Jin Choi finished her fellowship training in Medical Oncology in Yonsei Cancer Center. She is interested in clinical trial of HCC & pancreatic cancer and therapeutic development of oncolytic virus.


Department of Radiation Oncology

Prof Gwi Eon Kim, served as visiting professor in the department of radiation oncology, University of Minnesota. His main interest is Head and Neck cancer and Gynecologic cancer.

Prof Chang Ok Suh, Chairperson of KOSTRO, finished her fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her main research interest is Breast cancer.

Prof Chang Geol Lee Chairman of Department of Radiation Oncology, finished his fellowship at MGH, Harvard Medical School. His main interest is Lung cancer

Prof Ki Chang Keum finished his fellowship at Yale Medical School. His main interests are Head and Neck cancer, and colorectal cancer.

Prof Yong Bae Kim finished his residency and fellowship training at Yonsei Cancer Centre. His main interests are breast cancer, and gynecological cancer.
Division of Pulmonary Medicine

Prof Se Kyu Kim served as post doctorial fellow at M.D. Anderson Cancer Centre. His main interest is basic and clinical research in Lung cancer.


Department of Surgery

Prof Sung Hoon Noh is a world renowned gastric cancer surgeon. He served as visiting scientist at NCI after his full training in surgery. His main interest is Gastric cancer surgery and translational research.

Prof Nam Kyu Kim is a colorectal surgeon who trained at Ferguson Clinic, Michigan State University. His main interest is Colorectal cancer research.

Department of Pathology

Prof Woo Lek Yang served as a research fellow at MGH, Harvard Medical School after his full training in Pathology at Yonsei University.
