The Cancer Therapeutics Research Group (CTRG) was formed in October 1997 by Professor John Wong (National University Hospital and National University of Singapore) and Professor James Bishop (Sydney Cancer Centre and University of Sydney) to develop new therapeutic strategies for cancers common to Asia- Pacific. This resulted in a joint research group, between National University Hospital/ National University of Singapore; Sydney Cancer Centre/ University of Sydney; Johns Hopkins International Medical Centre; Chinese University Hong Kong; National Cancer Centre, Singapore; Yonsei Cancer Centre, Korea; and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth Australia, which performs clinical trials on new anti-cancer drugs in Asia-Pacific, and aims to be the equivalent of oncology cooperative groups in the USA. |
